Week 8: Snuggling in 80 degrees

Here are five photographically illustrated facts about Eli.

1. Eli is by far the happiest when he can sleep on your shoulder (preferably the left, over your heart) in an upright position. We believe he now weighs just over 11 pounds and gaining, so the left shoulders in the house are taking a beating.

2. Eli likes to be warm. Like, really, really warm. So it’s 81 degrees inside the house today, and Eli has been generally calm, sleepy, and sweet — as long as he’s either on the shoulder or some other body part. We’re looking into air conditioning now. (Oh, and he’s getting pretty good at finding his thumb!)

3. Eli loves to hang upside down. After eating, especially, he sits on the Boppy and lurches backwards until I arch him upside down for a few seconds, then bring him up (and kiss him, of course), and repeat as necessary until he seems somewhat dazed and I decide continued play might be bad for the brain.

4. Eli’s eyes are very sensitive to light, just like daddy’s! Therefore, Eli is now one super-cool dude.

5. Eli is the prettiest baby in town.
