Month six: Teeth!

Breaking news! Eli has sprouted not one, but TWO teeth! We’ve tried and tried to take pictures, and I even thought taking a video might work, but Eli is much more interested in blowing raspberries and pushing the camera away than he is in opening wide for mommy:

But he actually handled the tooth-growing incredibly well. He was a little extra-fussy last night (the second one just broke through this — Monday — morning, and the first one showed up on Saturday), but not screaming or anything. His tooth-growing occurred just in time, too, as he’s really taking to eating:

We enjoy feeding him carrots the most, since he ends up looking like a vampire after a messy kill.

This video is actually part of the last bit, but I only just got around to uploading it. Turns out, Eli’s new grandpa, Keith has the tickle-baby touch:

In other news, Eli continues to master sitting up, though he occasionally lurches backwards and has, once, slammed his head onto the floor, which is decidedly not my favorite part of sitting up. But other than that, he’s pretty solid:

He’s starting to try to crawl, in fact, doing big pushups and trying to figure out how to get his knees underneath him. He’s also developing his geekier side:

Eli's nerdy onesie

Maybe my favorite onesie ever … thanks, Ashley and Sam! And in other very important milestones, he attended his first A’s game (in a luxury box, which turned out to be a pretty good plan after the, ahem, Giants game fiasco).

In other news, Eli is just maturing incredibly fast. He grabs everything now, chews on everything, wants to look at everything. He is particularly into grabbing faces at the moment, and sometimes he’ll throw his arms around my neck, grab onto my hair, and plant his wide-open mouth on my cheek … it’s almost too adorable to handle, until he starts licking me and it just gets slimy and gross. Ok, yeah, it’s still adorable. He’s also incredibly adept at taking Justin’s glasses right off his face in one swift motion! We’re having an absolute blast with him right now.
