I guess I sort of thought we’d get to six months and then just stop. You don’t hear a lot about seven-month-old babies, you know? Six months is sort of this milestone, and after that felt like uncharted territory. But here we are, marching on into seven months (as of Oct. 2). And marching we are. The appearance of two teeth seems to have energized Eli in the development department. For example, this:
quickly led to this:
He isn’t actually crawling yet (he mostly moves backwards, in fact), but he gets up onto his hands and knees and gets this look like, “ok, what’s next again?” I think he’ll be cruising the house by next week. Unless he gets too distracted by pulling himself up in his crib, which he’s nearly mastered. His other latest trick is clapping, and since he can clap and blow raspberries at the same time, why, it’s only fair to say he’s a genius. Obviously.
All the daycare kids wish they could rock his sweet hairdo:
And although he generally enjoys eating solids, his attempts to avoid getting any actual peas in his mouth briefly left us with a hilarious troll baby.
In addition to peas, he also hates water. Water? Water. See the month six (part 2) pictures here.

Okay, you have to explain the beanie thing. Is that a west coast trend?! Still hoping to meet Eli and sniff his baby head before he’s all grown up.
