So, we’ve got some catching up to do, eh? Last time we talked, Eli had the croup and was too sick to wear his Halloween costume, he was slowly transitioning from commando crawl to hands-and-knees, and his top two teeth were just poking through. Now, our main jobs in life have become “Keep Eli From Doing Stuff” — he crawls with lightning speed, he pulls himself up to standing on almost any surface, his arms grow longer with each passing second so that no space on the coffee table is safe, and his primary goal in life seems to be DANGER. He loves mainly dangling cords, small choke-worthy items and crawling off precipices. Oh, and laptops. That kid loves laptops.
Here, then, is a quick pictorial tour of the last two months as we close in on, I can hardly even type it, 10 months!
Learning how to stand up, back in November:
Mastering it for good a few days later:
Ruling the roost at his first Thanksgiving:
Scoring a sweet new walking-wagon from Grandpa Bobo:
Then getting daddy to do all the pulling — much better than walking:
Eli joined the Eckhouse Thanksgiving weekend tradition of attending the San Francisco Auto Show, where he discovered that the Honda Odyssey has a seat built just for him!
He graduated to nine months by learning to climb the stairs at Fritz and Sharon’s baby shower–mastering them with ease in only a few minutes:
Was adorable at the zoo:
Went Christmas tree hunting:
Had his first Hannukah:
Made out like a bandit at his first Christmas morning:
Got all dressed up for Christmas dinner at Alicia and Michael’s:
And tuckered himself out so much he didn’t even have time to lay down before he passed out:
