Haircut and the month of June

Yes, Eli’s first haircut was an epic, Titanic-like disaster. But after he was mistaken for a girl three times in the same day, his daddy insisted that we try again to do something about this spectacular mop (and yeah, he’s wearing daddy’s shoes. Did I mention how freaking cute he is right now?):

Eli's messy mop

So I bravely took him to the haircut place all by myself, armed with a bowl full of dried strawberries and sheer dread. I don’t know if it was the new place we went, the fact that it was close to but not well past naptime, or just the fact that it was almost three months later, but he was an angel who did not make a peep during the entire thing. Now, of course, he’s almost completely unrecognizable. Even he is kind of shocked.

Where'd my hair go!?

And even:

Haircut: the back

Crazy. In other news, Eli has added a few more tricks to his vocabulary, including “uhwan see” and “uhwan do,” as well as “bye-bye,” and sometimes a full-on heartstring-tugging “bye bye daddy.” He also says “cracker,” as in, he went to the cupboard today, opened it, got out a box of crackers, brought them to me, and said, “uhwan caca.” I alerted Harvard.

We’ve got a little backlog of videos that I’m working on, but here’s one of Eli and Justin having Boy Fun:

Catch the latest batch of photos here, including Eli waking up with the toothbrush he insisted on taking to bed, a visit to the park, some tree-climbing, his first day in big-by shoes (he wears them now! hooray!), A’s outfit day, and his visit to CNET. Enjoy!
