Week 12: Leaps and bounds

So, I keep trying to remember that Eli’s week 12 is more like week 9, since he was three weeks early and all, but man, that kid is right on schedule. Check it out:

Packing up the baby clothes already

He’s now fully in his 3-6 month clothes, which looked SO HUGE just a few short months ago. It’s amazing. Also, he can stand (don’t worry, a parent was within inches) :

He can also hold his head up for minutes on end as he tries valiantly to crawl across the floor (he hasn’t repeated his rolling over feat yet, as he gets too furious about being on his stomach to make any serious attempts):

He’s growing hair like a Chia pet:

He attends birthday parties galore — Scarlett had a birthday on May 23, and hey, so did I! Eli went to Scarlett’s party and my birthday BBQ, where he proved himself extremely interested in parties, and in being held by Uncle Ashley, Aunt Maureen, and anyone else within arm’s reach:

Getting down with his bad self

Oh, and he can talk. He’s very convincing when he wants to get picked up off the floor (um, always):

In other news, Mommy and Daddy went out for their first grownup dinner alone to celebrate my birthday, and it was awesome (in the form of my first martini in like, what, a YEAR? My GOD!), and I finally discovered what’s so great about staying home all day. All the French Open I can watch. I’m thinking Eli would make a great tennis player.
