Yes, it’s true, we’ve been MIA in the worst way. Eli has been generally wonderful, though we’ve had a bit of a rough week, as he’s been waking up a lot at night with what seems to be a combination of the four-month growth spurt, a little bit of a cold, and possibly some teething. Yowsa. Also, I’ve been back to work all of three weeks now, and it’s sort of a wonder we manage to get ourselves dressed every day and get him out the door looking like the child of responsible parents instead of a mismatched poopy urchin. But he’s doing well in daycare — actually, he LOVES daycare, and it’s easy to see why:
It’s like a playground wonderland. He is, we are told, the king of daycare, as well. The other kids (they range up to about 2-and-a-half in age, and there are eight max, but usually only 5 or 6 at a time since not all of them are full-time) apparently love him and bring toys to him all day. He’s the baby there, and he loves to watch the other kids, too. It’s all pretty cute to see. He’s usually in a great mood when we pick him up, and some mornings he’s fussy in the car but starts smiling when we get to Evelyn’s front yard. So while I miss him like crazy during the day, I don’t worry too much. He’s in good hands.
Lots of cute pictures for you all to check out — Eli is discovering the wonders of feet, for example:
And his little duckling hair is turning into a bit of a mullet, I’m afraid:
And I’ve finally gotten around to uploading a slew of new videos. So, forgive the long post, but enjoy Eli’s new skills!
He can walk:
He can dance:
He likes CNBC better than girls (poor little Zelaya … but to be fair, she did sort of want to chew on his face):
He’s uninterested in scenic peaks:
And Eli’s not the only one with skills. Remember when I told you Justin learned to drive the tractor in Montana? Here’s proof:
Check out the Week 19 photos, and the Week 20 photos, and I’ll get Week 21 up there sometime before Week 22. I guess pretty soon it’ll be much more reasonable to start talking in months, eh? Unbelievably, Eli will be five months old on August 2.
