Eli made a guitar (I’m a little skeptical that he did the whole thing by himself) at school last week and proceeded to perform for quite a while, here is a compilation of his hits:
After Rockin’ around the yard he went inside to do a little cooking….
Then this weekend we went to see the Amazing Bubble Man where Eli got to go up on stage and be put into a bubble:
All those bubbles made the little rock star hungry for a burrito:
See all the bubble photos.
]]>First up, I sent Eli off to Radio Shack with $40 to buy a remote control car, and he came back with a camera. Molly claims they don’t sell remote control cars anymore. Anyway this seems to be more fun for all of us, and a lot safer for our expensive cameras. Here is his first album with his camera:

He actually took his first photos with my camera in August of 2009, you can see his skills have improved a lot since then:

Finally I took Eli car camping for the first time and he had a great time. The highlight was the S’mores:
And the hammock:
]]>Eli: “Maybe I should paint my chin.”
Me: “No, I don’t think that would be a good idea. How about just paint the paper, ok?”
Eli: “But I’m the artist.”
Me: “I know, and you’re making a great picture.”
Eli: “But I need to make a great picture on my chin.”
Me: “No, please.”
Eli: “But it’s just what artists DO.”
This painting, by the way, is called “Red boat on a stormy ocean.” I think it’s got legs at auction.
Eli has been having lots of fun playing T-Ball in the backyard so we though the natural next step was team T-Ball, or group T-Ball anyway. After a good deal of whining we got him to bat a few times which actually went pretty well when he was facing the correct way. However fielding he found totally uninteresting:
And even managed to get himself into a fight with his own teammate:
But nothing a little rock meditation couldn’t fix:
The first one he drew was apparently not a face, but a, um, “man poop.”
Then, though, he graduated to drawing a “cool astronaut” with a “small face.” Awesome.
The continuation of the astronaut drawing, because, after all, he needs hair.
And as usual with Eli, it all comes back to poop. Sigh.
]]>Eli had several great parties, including a lot of fun running around Robert’s Park in Oakland with all his friends until he was ready to fall asleep while swinging.
And what 3rd birthday would be complete without a Thomas The Train cake:
Much to his mother and grandmother’s dismay Eli got a scooter from Dad (don’t worry I got him a helmet and knee pads as well):
]]>See all the photos from the foamy beach trip, and two pretty HD beach videos.
Or read more about beach foam from the site I got this photo from:
